John H. Lee has been setting the standard for historical real estate in Southern California.

An accomplished agent with over $4 million in sales in his first year, he has orchestrated the sales of historic residence in Hancock Park, Country Club Dr, and West Adams. 

Highly sought after for his strategy to net the most money for sellers, John specializes in rehabbing and restoring historical homes. He has also masterminded deals for discerning sellers and buyers with home improvements process in HPOZ,  federal and local government tax credits for historical homes, sell it for tenancy in common (joint owners), and adding an Accessory Dwelling Units to increase income. 

Born in New York, John moved to California at 19 to pursue degree in film and journalism at University of California, Berkeley. While attending, he began writing for GQ Korea and Korean Vogue as a way to support his education. He conducted interviewed with one of the most cited scholars, Noam Chomsky. He wrote many hit-articles for both magazines. After graduation, he moved to LA for cinematic pursuits and quickly found himself working on high-profile projects such as Avengers 2, Black Panther, and Star Trek 3 that were shooting in oversea. 

John initially started as a production assistant, but with he quickly rose his rank with accurate knowledge on zero taxation law on US dollars in South Korea, as well as getting the approval for many incentives of Ministry of Culture and Tourism for Hollywood movies shooting in Korea. He quickly became an associate producer, working with US Paramount Studio, City of Busan and Seoul Film Commission, Korea. 

Driven by the challenge of achieving the next-level career, John attended the film school – Korean National University of Arts, known as the one of the best film School in Asia, as a directing major in Master of Fine Arts. Having directed commercials for Fortune 500 companies like Nikon Camera, Mini Cooper, Reebok Crossfit, John began selling real estate as a way to finance his cinematic pursuits but quickly found it was his true calling. 

John built his business the old-fashioned way – by knocking on doors. From the beginning, John has positioned himself on the cutting-edge of technology and artistry – he was the first in Hancock Park to use epic property videos, resulting in highest sold price on Highland Avenue. 

He continues to drive pricing in West Adams, Country Club Dr, and Hancock Park. Whether working with buyers, sellers, or developers, John’s integrity, industriousness, and out-of-box thinking create the highest echelon of service. 

Having published in LA Curbed, Dwell, and LA Times, John also specializes in historical homes photography for his listings. 

When not hustling, he unwinds by hiking, running, and playing chess.
